Haven't had a period since starting levo?

Hi. I'm 21, and I just started taking 25 mg of levo last month on July 13th. My last period was before that, on July 2nd. My periods usually come one month too early and one month too late, but it's never more than a week late or early. This has been going on since I first got my period at 13. I maybe skipped my period once or twice in my whole life.

It is now August 24th and I still haven't had my period at all, and I don't even feel like it's coming. I am not pregnant and I don't know what else it could be. Nothing changed besides starting levo. It gave me other symptoms too, like irritability and incredible insomnia, also hot flashes. Is it going to improve over time? What's going on?

It would be a good thing to discuss with your doctor. If you've just started Levothyroxine it can take a while for your body to adjust and find the right dose.

Welcome to the forum!

You have just started the Thyroid medication but at the moment you are on a very low dose to get your body used to it. I hope you doctor has told you to go back for more bloods in 6 weeks. It take six weeks to get the dose at maximum strength so you need to retest then to see how you are getting on and will. Red a dose increase which are done in 25's. Then the whole process is repeated until you are on the correct dose for you. He should have also told you to take it on an empty stomach with a full glass of water to wash it down to where it is absorbed and then. O thing to eat for an hour after other than water so that your body can absorb the medication properly. If you read the Thyroid Uk site info you will learn and understand more how to look after yourself. Doctors. Dry rarely do or even know!

Thyroid can affect periods but hopefully when fully medicated you should get things on track.

Shout out if anything you don't understand and get into the habit of getting. Opossum of your resultsa d their ranges do you can post them if you need any help.
