Hello. I've been going to my GP for almost 2 years with the same problem.they keep telling me my thyroid levels are just a bit higher than normal. I don't feel great. Weight gain, even went to dietetician to see what I am doing wrong he referred me to GP for blood test because my food diary was OK. I am tiered all the time, I feel week, sleepy, heavy painful periods, cold ,and we have trouble having a baby. I was wondering if I get my results today is there someone to tell me if I should be chasing this problem privately or leave it as it is. Thank you

Don't worry. Put up your results, with the ranges, on a new post for comments and help/advice will be forthcoming from members :)

I got my test printed. Both of them, so first of them was Tsh 5.62 miu/L T4 10.0 pmol/L

Second a month later tsh 5.39 miu/L T4 11.2 pmol/L I read on pregnancy forums that to become pregnant tsh shouldn't be higher than 2.5 is that true? What do you suggest? The test that I've done a year ago I remember only the tsh it was 6.3. Thank you!

I think you should create a new post, asking for feedback on your Thyroid Function Test results, and post the results in your post. Stuck at the end of a post with a non-informative title your results won't get noticed by many people.

Please note that we really need reference ranges to be able to help and your surgery should provide those (if you ask). If the reference range for Free T4 was 7 - 14, for example, then your result looks moderately good. However if the reference range is 12 - 22, then both your T4 results are under range. It makes a big difference to how people interpret your results.

Both your TSH results suggest you are hypothyroid by the standards of doctors in many countries, but in the UK you will be told that everything is fine and dandy.

You really need more information, such as your thyroid antibody levels, and your Free t3 level. But if you could write a new post with the info you have then you should get some help.

I have Made a new post, thank you. People have replied. And most opinions were that I am hypothiroid. What I do not understand why the ranges differ in different parts of country or from other countries.
