The symptoms of thyroid imbalance can lag behind. In addition, the overactivity of your thyroid may have depleted your nutrient levels. Get vitamin levels checked, vitamin D, folate, ferritin, B12 and take some vitamin C. When unwell I take 1000 mg vitamin C a day. I also take a little selenium and magnesium as minerals can get depleted too.

Yes, my thyroid condition was a different one but I got very overdosed on Levothyroixine for complex reasons, poor quality levo and manufacturing faults. And yes, I felt absolutely awful as a result of being overactive and then underactive. Lost most of my friends as a result of not being able to socialise due to anxiety. Anxiety carried on for quite a while even after I got thyroid levels balanced but I'm fine now. Do everything that is calming. Gentle exercise, hypnotherapy, yoga but not too vigorous and rest, lots and lots of rest and be kind to yourself. You will get back to normal eventually.

thankyou... I'm going to the doctors again next week....he's put me on a lose dose beta blocker said it will help with my anexity...I'm worried and reluctant to ask or be prescribed antidepressants

Antidepressants are not a quick fix as they take at least a month to work and they too can have side effects. They don't correct thyroid imbalance.

Betablockers can help temporarily but if you don't feel well on the betablockers go back to your doctor and tell them as there are other varieties. Read the patient information leaflet carefully for side effects. It's hard to tell thyroid symptoms apart from side effects of medicines so keep a diary of doses of meds and symptoms. In the meantime ask the doctor to check vitamin levels as you will feel ill if they are low.

Post your thyroid blood test results here as even though doc says they're normal, they might not be. 'Normal' can be anywhere in range.

Rachs79,

Remission may have failed. Have you had a thyroid function blood test?
