About 43 years ago I was taking 40,000 mg of Vitamin C per day for a couple of years, which is 66,660 times the US recommended daily dosage. I felt great and had no side effects. I currently take about 2,000 per day but would prefer to take more. At any dose, Vitamin C is cheaper than bottled water! Linus Pauling, who had 2 Nobel Prizes was a big fan and ultra-high use of Vitamin C.

Mhacket234,
Have a look at this link which will tell you what the tolerable upper dose is efsa.europa.eu/en/ndatopics...
There is something very wrong with your arithmetic. Nowhere is the recommended daily dosage of vitamin C less than one milligram. (Actually, 0.60006 mg is what I work out from your figures.)
Look up Irwin Stone, Ph.D on Doctoryourself.com . Stone was a biochemist who was using megadoses of ascorbic acid in the 1930's when it became commercially available. He was a friend of Linus Pauling and it was Stone who piqued Pauling's interest in vitamin C. Stone and his wife used high doses of the vitamin and it was instrumental in their recovering, while hospitalized, from severe injuries from a high speed head on collision. I take between 2.5 and 5 grams, daily.
