Tingling itchy scalp and hair loss

I'm losing quite a lot of hair and now have a tingling/itchy scalp. I have Hashimoto's and follow a gluten free diet. What can I do? I really don't want to bald as well as fat :(

What did you do about low folate levels? Just wondering if vitamins are now optimal or still room for improvement?

Your folate, ferritin, B12 and vitamin D were all on low side on previous post.

Are you supplementing, if so what and do you have any more recent tests since going gluten free?

I've been taking vit D and sublingual B12 but have not had a more recent blood test. I don't think I really understand what I need to do to optimise the levels.

Have a look at SeasideSusie posts to other people, she has lots of specific advice about vitamin levels. If you follow the advice, you may see an improvement on the symptoms you've described.

vm133 You had some suggestions from Clutter in your previous post healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

If you retest vitamins and minerals and post the results, further suggestions can be made.

But for starters, as you are taking Vit D there are important cofactors needed when taking D3 vitamindcouncil.org/about-v...

D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems.

D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds.

Magnesium comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds naturalnews.com/046401_magn...

Check out the other cofactors too.

is there a supplement that combined all the different vitamins?

Poor you :-( It happened to me, just like that. I believe it was an adrenal related problem as I was very stressed and not diagnosed at the time, even though I'd lost half of my hair & was clearly hypothyroid. In desperation I saw a Chinese herbalist & a nutritionist (all savings spent on this). The herbalist gave me a concoction containing liquorice root & other herbs for the adrenals and the nutritionist suggested I have the adrenal stress test (Genova do it) to check on levels of cortisol & DHEA - I couldn't afford the test, but managed to pay for the nutritional supplements she advised: so it seems both practitioners thought it was adrenal related. My hair grew back! (Have Hashimoto's - finally diagnosed 12 years later - & Coeliac problem discovered two years ago, but you already know about that kind of thing in your case).

You have some excellent advice on supplements from the knowledgeable folk on here and I hope you begin to recover very soon x
