I've had a virus for 2 and a half weeks, I'm covered in rash and have painful spots on my hands, then my joints started swelling and ate painful.

I went to hospital and they think it's viral arthritis, has anyone suffered with this and how long will it last, I can hardly walk because of the pain.

Sorry. I've not heard of this and these symptoms.

What is the hospital doing about it? Anything? Are you due to go back for follow up? What treatment was given? Did A&E do any investigations and refer you to a specialist?

Have you seen your GP with this yet?

Have you Googled Viral Arthritis on NHS choices? Looked up NICE guidelines?

I had bloods which didn't show anything apart from my body fighting something. Was sent home just to take painkillers.

Going to Drs tomorrow for follow up, went to Drs 2x before going to hospital.

Have you looked on NHS choices. Other than that I would be asking Dr tomorrow how long it will be before you are feeling better. I would guess you were given paracetamol or cocodamol plus Ibuprofen to take by the hospital. If you are still in pain to this severity after taking these regularly then I would be telling GP and asking what can be done about the pain. No one should be left in extreme pain.
