Hair loss
Have you had your TSH, T4 and T3 levels checked recently? Can you post the levels with ranges?
I am schedule to do a test next week, It takes two week for results to come in, will post as soon as I get results. In the main time what can I do to help with my hair loss?
You can buy a product on line called biotin, I was thinking a lot at the front and within 2 months of regular tablet I noticed no hair loss and new growth coming through, good luck
Hair loss is a common problem with thyroid conditions.
Along with TSH FT3 and FT4 results have you any test results for those essential vitamins B12 folate D3 and inportantly ferritin. Low ferritin can cause hair loss and good ferritin levels are necessay for the metabolism of thyroid medication.
Low or high cortisol levels can result in hair loss. Again good cortisol levels are essential for thyroid meds working for you.
Low stomach acid is also common in hypothyroidism. Without adequate stomach acid thyroids meds as well as vitamins and iron cannot be absorbed in the body.
What thyroid meds are you taking and how much?
Please post any blood results you have and members will comment and hopefully offer some advice.
I've read biotin is very good but stop it a few days before your tests as it can mess up your results.
