Natural Desiccated Thyroid Hormone (NDT)

Hi All,

It's really nice to finally find a community to share ideas & information with. I just wanted to ask those who are currently taking NDT what time of day you take it? I've read an article by Mary Shannon which says that research shows that taking levothyroxine at night aids better results. There wasn't any information in the article about NDT so thought I'd see what your thoughts were on the subject.

I take mine first thing in a morning on an empty stomach x

Hi Koleen. I take mine first thing too, away from food and other meds for at least an hour.

I take mine twice a day, once in the morning (around 4-5am - I always wake at this time so take it and go back to sleep for a bit) and then at 4pm

Thank you all for your replies. I'm thinking of experimenting with a bit of intermittent fasting so I shall try taking it in the mornings.

I take 2.25 Nature Throid when I wake between 3am and 4am and go back to sleep. That guarantees empty stomach and far enough away to have early morning coffee! Addict !! Seems to work well.
