VINEGAR, my new best friend!

A few weeks ago I decided to add unfiltered vinegar to my diet and have been seeing more and more benefits. I've been encouraging people to try it ever since. Dr. Mercola has this article on his website today pointing out more of the scientific facts as to why it works.

"Various studies, researchers have found that acetic acid and the other constituents may help with a variety of healthy body functions:

Healthy oxidation and cholesterol support

Normal cardiovascular support

Healthy cognitive function

Normal lymphatic drainage and normal detoxification processes

Athletic recovery

Apple cider vinegar contains a number of important components, such as organic acids: acetic, citric, formic, lactic, malic, and succinic acids.

It also contains acid, catechins, epicatechin, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, and p-coumaric acid. Plus it’s a source of manganese and potassium

May turn on genes to signal your body to accumulate and store less fat

May make you feel more full and less likely to eat large amounts of food when taken before meals

May boost your body’s absorption of important minerals from the foods you eat

Increases the acidity in your stomach to support the digestion and movement of your meal through your GI tract

Both apple cider vinegar and honey have a low pH, but both turn alkaline when consumed.

The research on apple cider vinegar has been growing over the last 20 years, and that’s an exciting development. For a substance that’s been valued since the early days of Hippocrates, it’s about time scientists delved deeper to understand it."

This is very impressive Heloise, and sounds wonderfal. I have been incorporating this into my daily routine, along with some food grade diatomaceous earth - it's early days.

One thing that worries me, is that if I take it all the time, can in alter the balance between Alkaline and Acid. Have you experienced any issues at all?

Best wishes

Hi Debs, my understanding is that it changes your microbiome which I assume in a good way. I have had just a few moments of ache in my stomach in the evening. This happened only three or four times in the weeks I started and I did take a couple of charcoal tablets but it often passes in short time. I've had no cramps or anything else.

The article says it is alkaline but I doubt anyone would become too alkaline from a couple of Tablespoons there are acids in it as well so maybe it balances out. The body does regulate pH very, very carefully so I presume you would have symptoms if it is having difficulty.

Thank you Heloise, I believe when mine was tested it was too acid, which suprised me, after all how could candida survive and thrive if there was too much acid. Maybe I need a differen't test,

I am glad it is going well for you

Best wishes

Yes, its a very old idea. Apple cider vinegar has been promoted extensively for benefiting people who suffer osteoporosis arthritis.

A nurse, her name evades me, got herself out of bed/wheelchair bound situation, and swears ACV reason. She wrote a number of books and had a very successful private practice eventually.

As hypothyroidism includes many aches and pains like osteoarthritis, I believe ACV must be beneficial for hypothyroid patients too. Addressing gastric system issues is a very good place to start improving the health system overall.

Thank you, webar. I hope people will try it, of course some just don't like the taste. others have a concern for their tooth enamel. The vinegar along with other enzymes has been beneficial in extracting nutrients along with so many other benefits.
