T4 to T3 dose difference

Hello

I have a question. If I accidentally run out of T4 on holiday or something, is it possible to take the T3 instead temporarily? And if so what dose would I take of T3 if I normally take T4 125?

40mcg T3 is equivalent to 120mcg T4.

Not a good idea, unless you already take it. . Go to a pharmacist and get your usual or just go without for a few days. T3 doesn't stay in your blood like t4. Too much will get your heart racing and is dangerous. I used to do 125 of levothyroxine, now 20 mcg of liothyrine and 100 of levothyroxine.

Even if you already take it you shouldn't take a lot at once.

I did it for one day but won't do it again.

I take 125 of Levothyroxine and just got some T3 so I'll try same doses as you with them.

Yes, it's important to go down with the regular t4 before you add the t3' and it's important to check the levels in your blood three or four weeks later. He started me with 75 and 10, moving up to 100 and 20.
