Irregular Periods since Taking armour

Hello,

I am writing ask advice about irregular periods.

If anyone has insight I would appreciate your help. I had been taking thyroxal ndt for a year and for almost 1 half months been taking armour.

My once regular monthly periods have started to go haywire. The last two have been two weeks apart. I have menorrhagia so I loose a lot of blood and I am worried about loosing iron.

I also have high RT3, currently taking 1 grain armour in the morning.

Any advice would be appreciated.

This may not be (solely) thyroid-related...have you had your sex hormones tested, especially estrogen, estradiol, estriol and progesterone, as well as LH and FSH (luteinising hormone and follicle stimulating hormone, used to determine whether you are peri- or menopausal)? Can I ask how old you are?

Hi Anna, thank you so much for your reply.

I haven't checked the hormones yet, I asked an NHS nurse to the other day but she said it's wasn't worth it. Have you had this done on the NHS?

I am 39, my mother was 50 when she had hers.
