Hi, I'm looking for a sympathetic private GP or endocrinologist to see in Scotland, my GP won't entertain alternative treatments to those in the NHS guidelines. Any recommendations? Many thanks

Me too--- all Doc's do is take blood sample and tell you --" normal"--!

Then because it depressed me so much they put me on antidepressants, which make no difference!! So then they concentrate on " getting the depression meds right , and ignore the thyroid symptoms!

I am in Kintyre Argyll, and NEED help ! Think nearest endo is Aberdeen??

I'm sure there's a Glasgow 'group' so someone will be able to help. My view is most Consultants also have private practice so I'm not sure how much their diagnosis would differ depending on whether they were working privately or on NHS. I've never gone private but my old endo did both and I know he would have given me the same treatment regardless (I asked him out right)
