My recent lab result shows a value of 249 for my thyroid antibodies level. It's highlited in red and is labeled as high. The reference range is 0-15 IU/ml which made me wondered why mine would be this high. And what does it mean ?
I was wondering if anyone have any idea
Thanks

Which thyroid antibodies were tested? Depending on the antibody the diagnoses would be for either Graves or Hashimoto's which are both auto-immune conditions.
If you can edit your post with this information and any other thyroid related test results members can much more easily advise.
Antithyroglobulin antibodies are often present in Hashimoto's but could be also present in other conditions. It's uncommon to see someone with high Antithyroglobulin but low antithyroid peroxidase.
I'm personally not well informed enough in this situation to help you. I'm sorry.
If another member doesn't comment here soon I would recommend making a new post, same question but give the exact antibodies and results (as you've done in your reply to me), include that in the main post along with TSH, FT3, FT4 results if you have those, and any recommendations or advice your doctor has mentioned.
Unfortunately sometimes these posts get buried and other members aren't able to see them, so this requires posting again. Hopefully some members will see it soon
