Skipper04,
It's recommended you have ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate tested before supplementing but you can supplement 200mcg selenium which is good for thyroid without testing. You can buy it in pharmacies, health stores and on Amazon. Please use the affiliate link if you buy on Amazon healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
Skipper - there is no one vitamin to take for an under active thyroid so don't be persuaded by any 'thyroid support' supplements. They usually contain iodine which we shouldn't take unless tested and found deficient.
Plenty of Vit C and a good B Complex help support the adrenals, and thyroid and adrenals are connected. A good mineral complex that contains selenium but not iron, calcium or iodine. Or a separate selenium supplement as Clutter has mentioned as selenium helps with conversion of T4 to T3.
Other than that optimal levels of Vit D (a lot of us are deficient in that here in the UK), ferritin, B12 and folate so testing those is important and supplementing where necessary as Clutter has said.
