Hair Loss/Alopecia when hypo

Interesting thanks. They mention a TSH of 64(!) and low haemoglobin so I would have thought iron would be deficient as well as zinc.
I think that iron is commonly checked but zinc not so often i.e. iron, ferritin and folate. My TSH was 100 when, finally, diagnosed.
Yes, both myself and my cousin were "finally"diagnosed with both of us having a tsh of 150 something and 160! This was when I was a teen and they kept telling me I was depressed and trying to get me to take AD without doing any bloods so didn't get diagnosed until 6 years later
Whats the best way of getting all your other stuff like zinc tested or will it simply be too expensive lol?
It says in the Discussion that zinc tests are unreliable -
"Levels of zinc either in plasma or serum are not reliable indicators for establishing a diagnosis of zinc deficiency."
and that you have to supplement and see the response to work out if someone has a zinc deficiency.
Thankyou for that article. It was very informative
Oh ! Excellent advice ..Thank You . I took zinc and copper whilst recovering from Graves attack .. could well be why my hair has grown back in ... why do doctors knock us back when we talk of such things ...?
Works better than some of the stuff they dish out to us .
