I am Hypothyroid, diagnosed a few years ago.It was also found I was low in Vit D3 and was told to take a supplements, the valupak of Vit D3 from Asda. The Dr said take for 6 months and when I mentioned I had stopped to another Dr he said I need to carry on for life and printed off a document supporting this.Recently I have started feeling a little Dizzy with a feeling of being detatched to my surroundings if that makes sense. My blood pressure is ok apart from when I have been walking,it then goes up and sometimes I feel breathless while walking causing bad dizzy spells and I need to stop.Am I suffering with a Vit D overdose? Can anyone please shed some light on this.My thyroid has just been checked and all is optimized and I must say I am feeling so calm and relaxed like a little spaced out which is unusual for me lol.

Dizzy spells and feeling of detached.
How much VitD are you taking - what was your result when tested ? I very much doubt you are over medicated on D3.
Have you had B12 - Folate - Ferritin tested ? Sounds as if these results could be low and in need of supplementation. Do post the results with ranges if you have them. Your symptoms could be linked to low iron/folate/B12 ....
Thyroid results - do you have those too ?
What an absolute load of rubbish is in Valupak D3:
Calcium carbonate 95% - bulking agent
Microcrystalline cellulose - bulking agent
Stearic acid - anti-caking agent
Silicon dioxide - anti-caking agent
Magnesium stearate - anti-caking agent
And at last - D3 cholecalciferol
There are far better D3 supplements such as bodykind.com/product/2463-b... which contains only D3 and olive oil to aid absorption, and comes in various strengths.
What is your current Vit D level? Only if you know is that will you know if you are over dosed.
Were you told that Vit D has important cofactors that are needed? You can read about them here
vitamindcouncil.org/about-v...
D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems like calcification of arteries and kidney stones.
Were you told to take D3 four hours away from thyroid meds?
A maintenance dose of D3 is general needed for life when levels have reached the recommended 100-150nmol/L. What that maintenance dose will be depends on the individual and regular testing one or twice a year is recommended so that you keep within the recommended range. Too much D3 gets stored and can reach toxicity level.
Did you have B12, folate and ferritin tested as well? If we are deficient in one nutrient there is a good chance we can be deficient in others. Breathlessness and dizzy spells could be down to something else being low.
That's a really awful brand of D3 - full of nasty fillers and not a lot of vit D. However you should get your levels tested at last once a year if you are supplementing - you are aiming for high 90s to 150. You do much better to buy a decent brand online - biotics research or bodykind come to mind. If your GP won't test, you can get a finget prick test done by City Assays vitamindtest.org.uk/index.html
Too much vit D generally results in loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting - but it's mostly caused by too much calcium, which you can mitigate by taking vit K2 (MK7) and magnesium along with your vit D
How's your B12 and ferriin? Those are the ones that usually cause breathlessness.
