Hi cazz yes i have it, had it almost 13 years now since being diagnosed think i read somewhere if your thyroid levels are not right it doesnt help but dont quote me on this but im sure someone will pop up and give you a better explanation xx
HI Cazz, I had this before I was treated with thyroxine. Hope you get sorted soon. Janet.
Yes i still get it ,two years now
Yes I had this until on an optimal dose of Armour and sorting my adrenals out with the CT3M. Sorry you are experiencing this and hope you get it sorted.xx
Hi Cazz, sorry to hear you’re suffering from Vertigo, its awful isn’t it, I've suffered for 15 years with vertigo, and been hospitalised on several occasions, there they inject me with STEMETIL, but if I have an attack at home I take '5mg stemetil in tablet form' and its usually clears up within half an hour, hope you’re feeling better soon, best of luck.
Mia
Hi, Yes I too get dizzyness. Sometimes I can go weeks without it then wham it is all back. again. It is possibly one of the hardest things for me to deal with. It makes me want to do nothing and just go somewhere to be still ! I believe I'm still under replaced at the moment and have to wait to see if my new increase up to 125 of levo will help with this issue. Hope you get to the bottom of it.
Do you know what your blood pressure readings are? I discovered that my dizzy spells were caused by having a very low BP, this was caused by my undiagnosed hypothyroidism. Even when I was treated my BP remained low as I was not prescribed the correct meds/doses.
BP monitors are not expensive, this link will take you to The British Hypertension Society website for advice about monitors validated for home use;
If you decide to buy one then shop around as prices vary. For example, the Omron M2 Basic is £20 at Asda
Hi Cazz,
I have been dizzy for two years now. Basically everyday with a few times being normal. In february I was diagnosed with "off the charts" hypothyroidism. I saw a specialist in dizzy problems and thyroid (the thyroid part was pure luck). He said yep dizzy due to under active thyroid. If you are on facebook go to "searching for stillness" and "the daily spin". They have really helped me. I have seen a hypnotherapist who has helped me deal with it and it has worked really well. I am getting better and have realised that part of it is anxiety and it became a vicious circle.
I have just had a stressful week with a few things going wrong and having to visit the docs (love my Doc hate the receptionist!) got upset by all of it and woke up dizzy! recovering from it now tho. Brain and spine foundation (brainandspine.org.uk) are good they give you exercises to help you balance and i actually aerobic exercise too because it helps with the dizzyness. It also makes me feel good
prochlorperazine is stemetil and did me no good at all and yes it does interfere with the thyroid (thyroid uk say this in adverse affects section). In fact it has been said that stemetil and any other drugs for balance issues can hinder recovery from vertigo and dizzyness.
