What should my iron levels be?

Hi guys.

Wondering what my iron levels should be? My doctor told me I was "normal" but I'm constantly exhausted and can't stop napping. They said my iron level was 30.

Thanks for all your help :)

What iron level is that? There are several.

Is it serum iron? Is it ferritin?

Do you have a range (figures in brackets)?

No. I don't have a copy yet I'm picking it up tomorrow. All she said was "iron levels are 30 so that's within normal range" ??

That will be within the normal range but without a range it is meaning less.

Once you get your results WITH the range post a new thread and others will advise.

Be aware the advice on here doesn't follow NHS/NiCE guidelines as we want people with optimal health instead of not just being very sick health.

Have you had your B12 levels tested?

Yep. She said they were normal. But again what the doctor calls normal probably isn't. I'm going to get a copy of my results. You think it could be b12?

Some people are sub-optimal in multiple vitamins and iron at the same time. So it could be one or more of them causing you the issues.
