I have only just starting 50 micrograms of thyroxine after surgery from having Thyroidectomy in December and was wondering if anyone has ever felt like this from taking the medicine before?
I was feeling extreme tiredness throughout the day and by mid afternoon I had severe depression which I kept bursting into tears uncontrollably, it wasn't very nice and the left side of my face where I have been experiencing the pins and needles and spasms for the last few months around my eye intensified dramatically and It also went across my forehead and I wasn't with it all eg; very spaced out found it very difficult to drive.

You should have had a thyroid function test 6-8 weeks after starting Levothyroxine. 50mcg is an extremely low dose for someone who has had their thyroid removed so I think your symptoms may be due to being under medicated. Make an appointment to have a thyroid blood test as soon as possible and ask your GP to include calcium too as low calcium causes pins and needles. Arrange your blood draw early in the morning when TSH is highest and fast (water only as TSH drops after eating and drinking. Take Levothyroxine after the blood test.
Thanks for your reply. I should have said I only had half my thyroid removed as I had a large tumour on it but I couldn't remember what that surgery was called. I have been tested dr said my calcium was fine, TSH has been going up since the operation and this is why my specialist stated me on the medicine. My problem is my dad died on Saturday and we have his funeral coming up on Friday and I just couldn't bare to be feeling like that on Friday so I haven't taken it again since Monday but will try it again after the funeral.
