Bloods 4
Well, your TSH is much too high - should be one or under, and your FT4 is below mid-range. Is there an FT3 result? Because it doesn't show on the photo.
So, looks like you've got an absorption problem there, I'm surprised at such a high TSH on 300 mcg levo. What you need to do now, is find you what is stopping you absorbing your levo.
For starters, how do you take your levo? Do you take it on an empty stomach, and wait an hour before eating or drinking anything other than water? Do you wait two hours before taking other medication or supplements? And, do you wait four hours before taking iron, calcium, vit D or estrogen? What other medications are you taking?
Do you have low stomach acid? Acid reflux, etc.? Have you been investigated for Coeliac? If not, it might be a good idea.
Yeah coeliac, said i didnt have it? I started taking biokult and thought it was really helping me! I take my levo at night, usually around 11pm, well after dinner etc and no other sups. I take selenium, folic acid, zinc in the morning. I didnt get a T3, i dont think its a standard on out tests!
How did they test for Coeliac? Most testing is notoriously inaccurate. Just because it's negative, doesn't mean you don't have it. Have you tried a gluten-free diet? Might be a good idea to try.
So, if you're having trouble like that absorbing your levo, you're probably having trouble absorbing nutrients, too. You should get your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested. Because if all of those aren't optimal, your body will have trouble using the hormone you're giving it.
Your doctor should be investigating your gut, not hanging around waiting for an endo appointment, who probably won't help, anyway. You should see a gastroenterologist.
And, check your stomach acid. There's a test here you can do at home :
cant see the T3 level ? that's important ... can you post it
Hidden I've looked at a couple of your previous posts and for someone on 300mcg Levo (if you're still on that dose) your TSH is very high. What has this doctor said about it being over range?
I'm surprised your FT4 is as high as it is considering your TSH, but even so it's below 50% through it's range
Where is FT3?
What about vitamins and minerals? Something is stopping your Levo being absorbed.
In your post a couple of months ago you said you were going to get a Blue Horizon test done. Did you do it? There's a lot more going on that these four lots of GP tests are telling you.
I can't help with the other results you've put in your other posts other than your CRP is a bit high which might indicate inflammation or infection.
Hi Seaside! Yes you replied last time 😊 Hope you are well. I havent had the BH yet, i keep going to do it and then something comes up and i can't afford it! I really need to get it done to see where the problem lies. I think i'm just feeling really frustrated today with it all that my body just doesnt function normally.
Lulubella,
Electrolyte profile is within normal range.
GFR >60 means you have good kidney function.
TSH level is over range which means you are under medicated on 300mcg and dose needs raising. The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 1.0 or lower with FT4 in the upper range. FT4 needs to be in the upper range in order that sufficient T3 is converted. I suggested previously that your GP should check for coeliac disease which can cause malabsorption and may be why you require high doses of Levothyroxine.
FT4 is mid range. A dose increase will raise FT4.
