med free thyroid regrowining...help!!
Do you have Hashi's? Have you had your antibodies tested? It's quite normal for that to happen occasionally with Hashi's, but it's only temporary. You eventually go back to being hypo.
havnt been tested for hashi..but was told was graves...
Have you had your thyroid removed, then? Graves doesn't destroy the thyroid like Hashi's does, so I don't know how it would regrow, unless you had it removed. Did they actually test the antibodies for Graves? They can't know without doing the test.
when they tested 10yrs ago they said it was graves an removed it..specialist said sometime tissue get left an can regrow..as only xplaination as levels have improved 4 tsh off meds..im bit lost myself
OK, well, it would have helped understanding if you'd said that in your question.
So, you have no thyroid but you think it might be regrowing, right? But, even if it is regrowing, it will never grow enough to provide enough thyroid hormone to make you well. You are severely hypo, and you should be on thyroid hormone replacement.
Have you had any other levels tested, apart from your TSH? Of course you feel dreadful with a TSH that high, but it's not the fault of the 'meds'. It's the lack of thyroid hormone that is making you feel bad. And without the levo, you will feel even worse.
Have you had your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested? If these aren't optimal, they will make you feel bad. And you need them optimal for your body to be able to use the hormone you're giving it. So, if you haven't already, do get them tested.

A TSH of 75 and a TSH of 20 are both severely hypothyroid (underactive), with the 75 being worse than the 20.
For good health, most people with hypothyroidism need a TSH around 1 or less. To lower TSH you need more meds.
I don't know how you cope with a TSH of 20, never mind 75!
But if your TSH is dropping, and you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis it does suggest that you are becoming a bit less hypothyroid due to increased numbers and activity of your thyroid antibodies. It's impossible to say how long the TSH will keep dropping for, but eventually it will swing back again and your TSH will rise.
Going gluten-free helps many people reduce numbers and activity of their thyroid hormones.
I wrote a reply to this post describing what happens when people have Hashi's - the post that begins "Thanks to your positive antibodies you've got autoimmune thyroid disease also known as Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.". You might like to read it :
