Hi Lauren85,
The main foods I avoid are dairy, gluten and soya. All goitrogenic vegetables (cruciferous) are okay in moderation so long as they are well cooked.
Best wishes,
Pete
Lauren85,
Everyone should avoid unfermented soy which is thyroid unfriendly. If you have autoimmune hyperthyroidism (Graves Disease) it might be helpful to adopt 100% gluten-free diet but if not you should eat whatever you wish.
What are goitrogenic vegetables please
Hi Leener71
The main goitrogenic foods are:
• Broccoli
• Cauliflower
• Kale
• Brussels Sprouts
• Mustard Greens
• Radishes
• Spinach
• Strawberries
• Peaches
• Soy-Based Foods
• Peanuts
(there are others so have a look online).
All the best,
PeteRad
