Do you have any reason to think that you are low in iodine? Have you been diagnosed hypo? Are you on any thyroid hormone replacement? Have you had your antibodies tested?

I would not have thought, under normal circumstances, that getting iodine tested was a priority - it's difficult to get tested under the NHS, and expensive to do privately. But, if you're worried about it...

Hi thanks for response my tsh is 2.6 and I have hypo symptoms doctors saying its OK I m taking etroxin and my temps are rising to 37 so was wondering since I had b12 defiency sometime ago because of PPIs I was taking for hpylori I thought maybe I might be low on the raw materials which make thyroid hormone and iodine is one of them

But, if you're taking etroxin, you are getting iodine. Why not test the other ingredient? Why fixate on iodine?

The reason you still have hypo symptoms is that your TSH is still too high. You need an increase in dose.

No. It's for life. Didn't your doctor tell you that?

He didn't he said let's try for a month ,reason I wanted iodine is that my tsh first it was at 4.6 then it went to 2.5 without any medication so I thought maybe I am lacking the raw materials needed by the thyroid to make t4 and t3
