Guys, how are you coping?: So im waiting on my... - Thyroid UK
Guys, how are you coping?
This is a list of clinical symptoms and I'm sure you can tick off quite a few.
Breathlessness/ sore muscles are among the symptoms.
Thyroid Hormones drive our whole metabolism, from head to toe, so if we're low in them our body suffers. It needs T3 in the billions of receptor cells and T4 (levothyroxine) should be optimum to conver to T3. T4 is inactive and has to convert T3 particlarly our brain/heart.
Head and body hair is common to be affected but we need hormones to be at an optimum for us.

Blood tests should be the earliest, fasting, (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between your last dose of levothyroxine (thyroi hormone) and the test and take it afterwards.
Always get a print-out with the ranges for your own records and post if you have a query.
Does anyone have any advice on the crippling depression and physical agony before i get diagnosis/treatment?
You need thyroid hormone replacement now as all of your sypmptoms are hypothyroid. You need to make an appointment for a blood test as soon as possible.
I am not medically qualified but a healthy person doesn't have these symptoms. I have hypothyroidism.
I took most of the tests Wednesday but my Dr didnt know what ferritin was so i had to try and explain its iron not seritonin and they said the could order iron but it may or may not have the ferritin, but i go tomorrow morning for that, i dont feel healthy, most nights i dont think I'll make it, maybe im just weak
That's amazing Dr doesn't know what ferritin is.
The reason you are weak etc I think is due to too little thyroid hormones.
Yep i have soooo many of those symptoms, i really dont think i can wait for treatment, im so bad, theres nothing i can do is there? I just have to wait huh
Phone the surgery and ask if tests are back yet. They might be and ask for the results with the ranges. The receptionist might say wait till doctor sees them, but if he doesn't know what ferritin is it wouldn't fill me with confidence.
Tell her you don't want to go another three days without any diagnosis as you are feeling very unwell and you want to post them on the NHS Choices site for help with thyroid hormones, TUK and you will get feedback..
Definitely sounds like you have hypothyroidism. The meds take time to work but yiunwill feel bette. Ive been on levothyroxine for 3 months and inhave more energy than ive had in years. My hair has stopped dropping out, skin is better, anxiety has gone, brain fog and so many other things have gone.
