I have Hashimotos and a sub sternal goitre, currently on 100mcg of levothyroxine (this has been reduced twice by GP from 150 mcg because of suppressed TSH).
Because of the lack of knowledge by GPS and my endo I am interested in going down the functional medicine route. Have any of you ladies gone down this route? If so, what success have you had?
Lastly, can anyone recommend a functional medical practitioner in the West Yorkshire area, preferably near Leeds.
Many thanks,

Ahh yes.., she has set up a FM practice now with another Dr...Dr Aisla..., I was going to go but am seeing a FMP who was an intensive care nurse and was trained by Barry Durrant..., interestingly I had my 1st blood test today since starting levo...my starting dose prescribed was 100mcg but I only took 50mcg.., the Dr said to expect it to be increased..., but I’ve followed this lady’s protocol and the Dr rang today to say she’s really pleased my levels have dropped from 9.3 to 2.1 so she’s leaving me on 50 and re testing in 6 week
Oh no!!.. I’m sorry to hear that!...I hope you’re ok...., my Dr has had her whole thyroid removed too!! If it’s any help she said she is fine, she also told me that she’s a naughty doctor and takes her meds every 2nd day because of the long 1/2 life!!! I hope you recover quickly xx
