Phew! I succesfully managed to get most of my blood tests you all mentioned on here, done today. I shall post results soon.

The only 2 my GP wouldnt do was the Thyroid antibodies tests. She said she will only do them if i have a problem with the Thyroid profile tests. I've just read on here that you can have therefore need the anti-bodies tests???

Annealise You can have positive antibodies before they show in normal thyroid function tests. There are two types of antibodies - Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) and Thyroglobulin (TG). NHS sometimes does TPO but rarely does TG. You can be negative for TPO but positive for TG but the NHS wont know this as they don't normally do TG. I think it's rather a shame that your GP didn't bother to take the opportunity to check antibodies whilst doing all the others.
