Tiredmomof5 When you say that you haven't taken any meds, do you mean that you didn't take any before the latest tests or that you don't have a diagnosis and aren't on any meds at all?
And we're both tests done at the same time of day?
I have taken any thyroid meds at all. The first bllod test came as a surprise so we were doing the wait and see approach to do test again this month. I also came back with high hscrp, selenium defiency, adrenal fatigue, insulin resistence and estrogen dominance. Yes both test were done at 7 am.
It's a bit strange then. You can expect some variation, TSH and FT4 are a bit higher but your FT3 is puzzling - going from under range to over range.
Quite a difference in your TPO antibodies too, you'd expect that but mine only differ by a few points, there's a 30 point difference in yours. Have you had TG antibodies tested? Just wondering if there's anything autoimmune going on.
You haven't given any background and there's nothing in your profile. Can we have some information? Have you any symptoms? What prompted the tests in the first place? What does your doctor say?
Hi. Im 44 years old and have gluten, dairy and soy free for almost 10 years due to celiac. I started noticing lots of hair loss and didnt know if it was my thyroid or nutritional deficiency. My health has had many ups and downs. Also since my last test i have been noticing I have lost and gained the same 10 pounds over and over again. I have also started to have heart palpatations. I havent had my tg antibodies tested yet. I just got these results friday night and havent talked to my doctor yet.
It's good that your are gluten/dairy free as that is supposed to help reduce antibodies.
I would certainly get TG antibodies tested, some people can be negative for TPO but positive for TG. Your heart palpitations and the large difference in your FT3, especially with it now being high, might point to autoimmune thyroid disease.
Hair loss can be due to nutritional deficiencies as well as thyroid. Low ferritin can be a cause, as can low zinc and B vits. Do you eat healthy fats (butter, coconut oil, etc) or do you eat low fat foods?
Your ranges don't look like UK ranges, so not sure where you are. Can you get vitamins and minerals tested? Most important are
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
As well as TG antibodies
I'm not sure how much your doctor will know about interpreting your results. If you're in the UK, probably not a lot
My zinc, copper and copper are high and my vit d and selenium are low. I havent had those other test yet..my dr only test tsh so i had to order my own test so im sure im not going to get much help. I live in a small town in the US and they only believe is tsh. I did have an naturalistic doctor but she is too far away. I am on the hunt for a doctor who will understand which might take awhile.
