Hi, I have chronic, sometimes severe tinnitus. I've noticed that sometimes after having taken some of my NDT that the tinnitus gets louder. Perhaps a sign over overdosage? Any comments appreciated. Thanks for reading this.

Tinnitus made worse after NDT dose
Dashi2208,
Perhaps too much T3 in the dose. Another member stopped taking T3 because it made her tinnitus worse. Have you tried splitting dose and seeing whether that helps?
thanks for replying. Yes I have recently started to split my dose in half. . . 7a.m and 3p.m . . . it was after the second dose today that i noticed the increase in the tinnitus. I probably should have waited 12 hours til the second dose. It's just that I've never correlated the two things before so was curious about other folks experiences
Yes I tried NDT and struggled with tinnitus, particularly when on thiroyd. Thyroid S did not give me tinnitus but did not suit me at all. Naturethroid made me dizzy. Grrr. At that point I reverted to Levo and liothyronine.
It might be worth trying another brand if it persists.
Is it possible the tinnitus is from low b12 and being exacerbated by ndt? My tinnitus improved 6-12mos after b12 self-treatment.
thank you, that's interesting . . . I've been wondering about B12. May I ask how you're self-treating?
I'd also be interested in B12 self treatment, have had this annoying Tinnitus for the last year...thank you all for sharing your experience.
I am self-injecting (methylcobalamin). I started w a loading dose (I think that's an injection every other day for two weeks if I remember correctly) and now I do one about every month. I'm not sure how long it took to improve symptoms. Tbh it wasn't until my partner asked how my tinnitus was that I realised it had more or less gone. By then I had been self-treating for about a year.
I got my info from this site: b12d.org I am under the impression there is only one person in the office so be patient but I received a very helpful reply to my email, which got me started on treatment.
I've had a few problems since late 2015 with headaches, mild tinnitus, arrhythmia, and if I don't split my NDT (Armour) it feels as if I've overdosed. I'm mindful of the fact that Armour is very expensive now and my doctor hasn't asked me to switch to a cheaper brand but I would be interested in trying either a more natural NDT (WP Thyroid, but it's not available through my usual pharmacist, only Chemist 4 U as far as I know) or Levi + T3. But what I don't want to do is mess things up for myself. Perhaps I should have a B twelve test done first. Sorry, numbers not working on keyboard! Thanks
I use the chemist you mentioned and find them very good. Also, I take WP and it seems consistently fine.
The Thyroid UK website has several pharmacies listed:
I'm taking Thyroid S and recently I've had two separate weeks without tinnitus!! But I think they were when my T3 wasn't quite at its peak. Trying to juggle my dose a little to see if that helps but not successful yet!
