I didn't realise that shouldn't leave 24 hours before testing for t3. My recent blood test results showed my t3 to be slightly over range at 6.94. 3.10 - 6.80. This result was after not taking my t3 for 24 hours before. Does that mean that my t3 level is significantly higher than the test results. I have reduced my t3 from 25 to 18.75 should I reduce it further. I am slightly worried now😳

T3 test results, some help needed.
Skelly82,
If you add 20% to 6.94 24 hours after last dose the estimated normal circulating level is 8.32. I think reducing to 18.75mcg should be sufficient to drop FT3 into range.
Phew❗️That's good news. Thanks for the prompt reply I was worried. So next time I should split the dose and take half in the morning and half about 8.30 in the evening before❓
Skelly82,
Leave 8-12 hours between last dose and blood draw because T3 can peak in the blood for up to 5-6 hours.
skelly82 I normally take my T3 in one dose in the morning (I take Levo+T3. When I did my recent test I split the dose for a couple of days before and took the second dose of T3 at 8.30pm and did the fingerprick test at 8.30am the next day. It's generally advised 12 hours for T3 and 24 hours for Levo.
I wouldn't worry too much due to the fact that the blood test results were introduced along with levothyroxine (which doesn't contain T3) so if we take NDT or add T3 or take T3 only. I don't reckon they can correspond. I go by how I feel,
Thanks for your replies feel much better now 😊
