HI 16york68, well, I have to say that - brilliant as they are - members of admin don't necessarily know anymore about thyroid than ordinary members. They don't have any special training. So, you won't get a better answer, just because it's made by an admin.
Greygoose isn't even admin! lol Just an ordinary member. And, there's very little I could add to what SeasideSusie said, she gave an excellent reply. And, I agree with her that, if you feel well, then you are on the right dose of levo. But, if you still have symptoms, there's plenty of room for an increase. Both your Frees are over the mid-range mark, but not quite at the top. Once you get to that point, it's more about how you feel, than lab values.
And, I agree, you definitely do need to supplement your B12. Anything under 500 will cause neurological damage. But, what worries me more than that, is your ferritin. You must be feeling dreadful with a ferritin that low! In fact, you ought to see your doctor about it, because that's just not normal.
So, I would strongly recommend that you follow Susie's detailed advice - she knows much more than me about vitamins! - and optimise your nutrients before touching your dose of levo. With nutrient levels like that, a lot of your symptoms could be coming from that. And, it's a mistake to thing that you can optimise them with diet, when you are hypo, because you doubtless have low stomach acid - or else they wouldn't be that low in the first place.
Oh, and if you do decide to take magnesium, I have found through experimentation/experience, that it's a good idea to take it six hours away from your hormone.
Thank you very much for your reply, I will get on to my doc about ferritin and B12 . I am diabetic as well as having no thyroid, and don't know whether that affects some of my results
16York68,
I can't add anything to the advice SeasideSusie has given.
Iron and methylcobalamin B12 are available without prescription. Your GP may not prescribe as they are within range although they are far from optimal.
