serum free t4 level 16.1pmol (t4 range 10.0 - 22.0.)

Thanks

Emmy1991,

They look good. TSH is low and FT4 is mid range.

Is mid range ok?

Emmy1991,

Usually, but some people do need it higher. Could be low B12 and folate which are making you feel unwell. If you can't tolerate folic acid try methylfolate. It may be a good idea to check ferritin and vitamin D are optimal too.

My ferritin is 18, Not sure about vit D. I know i'm not anaemic though my MCV is 101.

Emmy1991,

Ferritin 18 is very low. Ferritin is optimal half way through range or around 70-100. You can buy iron without prescription to raise ferritin. You should take 1,000mcg vitamin C with each iron tablet to aid absorption and minimise constipation.

MCV101 means nothing to me without the reference range. This link explains the likely causes of high and low MCV labtestsonline.org/understa...

Yes it said that its within range but a lot of people have said it does need a boost, i will try that thank you. Do you think my Thyroid results are enough to cause any symptoms? The doc said my MCV was due to my b12/folate.

Emmy1991,

You could feel symptomatic with those results if your FT3 is low. I doubt your GP will test FT3 so you may need to order a private thyroid test to check FT3 level. thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

You might want to optimise your B12, folate, ferritin and vitamin D to see whether symptoms improve before ordering a private thyroid test.

The main question is 'how do you feel'?

Rubbish to be honest but I think thats due to my low B12/Folate, which I've had injections for but I cant take my folic acid as it sets off my stomach. Tired all the time, the tiredness gets worse during period, weakness, dizzy, my periods past two months have been a bit prolonged by a few days, irritable, anxiety/panic attacks, loss of appetite, nauesa, cold all the time, brain fog, digestive issues but some of these issues started after a very stressful time and after two courses of antibiotics. Sorry to be so forward just so fed up of feeling like this.
