So, you know how it goes, the results haven't come in yet but the nurse gave me some info during the scan. Now, I'm wondering what can be deduced from the small amount of info I was given.
During the scan they measure the radioactive iodine left in your thyroid after 24 hours. The range is 25%-35% I had 29.5%. The nurse said even before the scan completed that based on what she saw in the scan yesterday she expected the number to be in the upper part of the range, and she was right. So...what could that say about my imaging results?
Bonus info:
I have normal blood work (waiting on results of new blood work and will post that when it comes in - finally got ALL the tests ordered that are recommended on this site! Yay!), hypo symptoms, they suspect Hashimotos. I have multiple cysts with three prominent on the right. So if my thyroid is hanging onto a lot of the iodine, what does that mean?
Any thoughts appreciated, I know it's silly to post before I have all the info but waiting until my appointment next wed is going to be torture! Thanks.
