I have been on 125mg of thyroxine for ages. Last year I had terrible gastric problems. After investigations it was found that I had hpylori which was successfully eradicated. After 10 months of still feeling unwell and further tests it was found that I have 'slow transit' and gallstones - which were missed in January.
My thyroid has gone hyper. Every few months I have had blood tests and my GP has reduced the dosage. I'm now on 25mg. My hair has been falling out which is very worrying.
Also I have suffered forever with constipation which I have been told is also due to slow transit. However, just recently the constipation has got better.
I have always thought that symptoms are linked but doctors ignore - they treat whatever is their specialist field.
I have read that you can have hpylori from childhood. Could this have caused my thyroid and other autoimmune problems? Any thoughts please.
Apologies for such a long missive.

I don't know if this link will help but I do think your dose of 25mcg is so low, I cannot see how it can improve your overall health.
Your doctor, it would appear, is altering your dose according to your TSH only. If he took a blood test every hour in the day, it would be different each time I assume.
I shall give you a link of symptoms and tick them off. You must be feeling really awful only on 25mcg.
First, make a new appointment with GP or get a private test if you can afford one from one of our recommended labs. TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and antibodies. Also check B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. Deficiencies in all of these can affect us badly.
The appointment must be the very earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water). Also allow 24 hours gap between your last dose of levothyroxine and the test and take afterwards.
Doctors pay more attention to a TSH result than our clinical symptoms - it is these that have to be eradicated. If we complain they give us 'other' prescriptions instead of thyroid hormones.
Hypo means slow, so everything in our body slows down, temperature, digestion, pulse. Replacement hormones enable our body to work efficiently again but they have to be optimal.
Thank you both for your replies. I am seeing my GP on 17th and will ensure I get my results and post them. I shall certainly check the link straight away.
Once again thank you for taking the time to reply.
