Presidential Armour!

What is good for the First Lady is good for us. I can't imagine for one minute that HC is going to be given anything "dangerous".

Great link,

One of the doctors states:-

..................of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, was more measured. "Endocrinologists prefer levothyroxine over Armour Thyroid because levothyroxine results in steadier levels of T3 in the blood, more closely mimics normal thyroid function, and makes it easier to interpret the results of thyroid blood tests," he wrote in an email.

(my own comments)

This phrase 'Endocrinologists prefer levothyroxine over Armour Thyroid because levothyroxine results in steadier levels of T3 in the blood, more closely mimics normal thyroid function'.

Again, they are more interested in interpreting the results of blood tests than the patients' clinical symptoms and if they can lead a normal healthy life.

Apparently they are also unaware that T3 works after it is in the cells (which I don't think can be measured) whilst T4 diminishes slowly but it is inactive until it converts..

"However, a very small fraction of patients seem to feel better when taking Armour Thyroid. The explanation for this is not known, but this is the main reason some patients take Armour Thyroid. In general, when used in appropriate doses, either levothyroxine or Armour Thyroid should result in a good health outcome."...

another:

...But then researchers determined that people who were given thyroxine alone could convert it to T3, and when circulating levels of thyroid hormone were analyzed, "researchers were able to demonstrate that serum levels of thyroid hormone were very abnormal if patients were swallowing T3; they were also kind of abnormal if people were swallowing thyroid hormone extract -- T4 levels on the low side and T3 on the high side," said Hennessey."

First, comparing NDT with T4 which doesn't contain T3! The T3 in bloods would look abnormal if NDT was being compared to levo alone.. Some patients aren't good converters of T4 and others have a defective gene or cannot tolerate T4.

So it appears to me that, again, they are more interested in the results of the blood tests than resolving the patient's symptoms. Being mindful of the monetary rewards given for prescribing levo.

Mrs Clinton is a wonderful example of a person on the correct hormones who has energy and whose brain works fine as well :)

I was born in the year of the Dog and they metabolise thyroid hormones very quickly - so maybe I need more !!

In spite of her being on Armour - she still looks unwell. Wonder how her Ferritin - Folate - B12 - VitD is ?? :-) Our building blocks of health !!

I noticed HC has shed some of the thyroid weight gain of the last decade, but she does still look a little unwell.

Then again, think of the campaign schedule she has. I really don't know how she manages to keep functioning at such a high level. If for no other reason, I hope she is elected POTUS, since she provides a very prominent example of recovery with non-mainstream thyroid care.

Am not surprised I think the fittest of the fittest would be looking unwell just now. Her schedule must be gruelling. Even with Pneumonia she kept on going. I'd love to have her physicians. In fact if she looses the presidential election I think I will write to her and aske her if she could contact Jeremy Hunt and give him a few pointers on what should be done in the UK for us T3 ers.

The article, the doctors interviewed showed blatant ignorance. Once again, saying it was important that labs be used as a guide to treatment.."if she is not getting too much t3". As much a s disdain Hilary and her views, i gotta say, i think if anything, she is extremely undermedicated based on her over weight appearance and collapsing, twitching and Parkinson like symptoms.
