If anyone can shed some light on my most recent results below that would be super helpful! I know it says my FT3 is high (Though I do not feel any Hyper symptoms) I also can't seem to figure our what the RT3 ratio is? Any comments very welcome!
Thank you! R xx

Yes I see that its over range, but I do not have any hyper symptoms. Of course I am happy to reduce T3 (it makes things a lot cheaper for me) but it doesn't solve anything as I am still not 'Optimal' and I wasn't when my blood tests were either. So as I understand it there are other possibilities aside from 'being over medicated' Thyroid hormone resistance, RT3, low iron etc.
You are over medicated whatever you feel. If you only feel well with high FT3 then you will have to decide whether the increased risks of developing osteoporosis and atrial fibrillation are acceptable in order to feel well today. Your rT3 is low so won't be causing problems.
Whether your iron is low or high won't affect your FT3 result.
When my FT3 was 8.4 I halved 40mcg dose to 20mcg for 2 weeks and then resumed 30mcg T3. Took about 8 weeks I think for my hair to stop coming out in clumps which I assume is when FT3 dropped back into range. A blood test 6 weeks later confirmed FT3 was within range.
Oh that must have been horrible for you. My hair was doing the same thing when I was under medicated but hasgotten better recently... which is one of my fears about dropping too low! The two could also have nothing to do with one another as I have had a bunch of different things going on, so in theory the hair loss could be attributed to any of them! Thanks for clarifying the time frame. It is oh so frustrating to feel you get one step forward and then two steps back!
I had increased hair loss until meds and doses were right but it was coming out in small clumps when FT3 was over range. Previously had FT4 over range but that didn't affect hair.
My hair loss issues were at their worst when I was on levo and my FT4 was mid range and my T3 low. My hair condition is still pretty bad - brittle, breaking and dreading but the hair loss have improved.
Clutter , just an after thought but, could too high T3 contribute to weight gain, perhaps I am confusing the hypo/hyper symptoms as I know they can overlap.... can they overlap in the weight gain area as well?!
Interesting, so it sounds like what you are saying is I could possibly be mistaking hyper symptoms for hypo, as my t3 is 2 points over range? Thanks for the link!
I'm saying you are biochemically over medicated because FT3 is over range. You haven't said anything about symptoms, other than you aren't experiencing hyper symptoms, but if you've had weight gain, that can be due to over medication.
ok, thanks Clutter. I know you don't mean to and its ever so hard to interpret tone in messages like this. But you do have a tendency to be a tad abrasive sometimes. I do not mean that as any form of an attack on you personally as you are always very quick to respond and be helpful. Perhaps I am indeed just over sensitive... another symptom of being hyper I see!
