Been noticing that after I take 1/2 of the 5 mg of Methimazole once a day like 35 minutes after taking it I start to get pain in my heart..the next day hours before I take it I have no pain..don't see Specialist till next month on 22. And this breathing problem is a pain...I could be breathing good then I'll start have breathing problems for hours, I've told my Specialist but she don't know what could be the cause, I check my heart rate and it will be in the middle 80s..I guess its a mental thing, and I'm taking iron pills cause I was low in iron. Any comments please. Thanks.

Not that I know of. It's such a small of a pill, you'd think its hardly nothing but you don't know the effects it can cause I guess with such small amount. Thanks.

isn't that the lowest amount you can take already?

I believe so it is. The Specialist said she believes I'll be going into remission. Last I went to see her, she said that everything is perfect. She said by the feel of my Thyroid and the TSH level its perfect, but will have me on this amount till I see her again on December then give me something else with this. I'm like what ???? Why would they give you something else with the pill if everything is perfect?? Don't make sense..I guess I'll wait till I see her again then find out what my TSH level will be when she request the blood work again.

That's awesome on your levels staying normal! hopefully, she'll adjust it again and you won't have that problem. Good luck.

So there is something else they give you to adjust it? What do you have? Are you hypo or hyper, I was told I have both.

oh no idea! sorry. I'm hyper but no meds yet. I'm assuming since she told you she'd give you something else there must be a reason for it.

My guess would be either too little or too much T3. You really need to get your Free T3 measured and ask for the result and the reference range. Also ask for the results and reference ranges for TSH, Free T4, and the various different thyroid antibodies.

I noticed she only checked free 4 and TSH level. I didn't get my TSH level this last time since she said my TSH level was perfect and Free 4 she didn't till me what it was, but said I'm doing good that she's going to keep me on that amount with the Methimazole for a month then give me something with the Methimazole around the ending of December, she thinks I'm going into remission. She also says my Thyroid is perfect and she can tell by how my Thyroid is doing by the TSH Level. My thing right now is the breathing, I'm fine then all of a sudden I feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen...

There is far more to knowing about how well the thyroid is doing than just knowing the TSH. The TSH isn't even a thyroid hormone it is a pituitary hormone. I think you need to find another doctor. Yours isn't testing your Free T3, and isn't testing your Free T4 very often. These things are essential for a doctor with a better idea of how the thyroid functions. And your doctor isn't giving you enough information. You need to get copies of test results and reference ranges, not just be given them verbally.
