The steri strips were annoying me so much, I decided to pull them off on Day 17 post op. Can't believe how quickly our body heals itself. I've started gently rubbing some Bio Oil on it but a friend of mine who is a GP just told me to buy silicone patches. So, I might try that too.

It is amazing how well we heal. My surgeon told me major healing took place in the first month as wounds knitted but internal healing continued for up to 18 months.
My mum had facial surgery a few years ago and her excellent plastic surgeon suggested she use vitamin e oil on the incisions - even the fine ones around her eyes - starting day two or three (along w antibacterial ointment initially) if I remember correctly. You can't see any of those scars now.
You just pierce the capsule and pat a little bit on all along the incision. It doesn't have to be a lot. I think we were doing it twice a day and I think you can and should clean it in between (just w a little warm soapy water and a clean flannel I should think) because the oil can get sticky and attract dust.
If you're applying something oily there you may want to think about wearing a little cotton bandanna or something to keep your clothes clean if you're wearing anything you don't want to stain (though I find using washing liquid directly on an oily stain generally works).
Right, went to my GP and requested for Dermatix Silicone Sheet Fabric, size 4cm x 13cm. She prescribed it and I've started using this silicone sheet on my scar (my immature scar) as described on the box.
