I've been advised to get a copy of this book. I've looked on STTM site & Amazon & there only seems to be a hard copy. Does anybody know if its available as a download?

Many thanks

You know? This book is really quite out of date now, and is pushing NDT over everything else, regardless of the patient's individual needs. It does have some good info, of course, but the overall tone worries me.

While NDT saved my life, I would say you would be better off reading on here and following up on the various links. It will educate you much better in the long run, and enable you to find the right solution for you.

Thanks Ruthi - that's what I've been doing but 2 people have said this book is their bible & I should read it. Would have got a copy if it was cheap enough on a download. Glad it not a necessity :-)

You could order it from the library - it would take a while, and be an interesting read. Its a fast moving world, and no book is going to be up to date for long.

Justliloldme one of the best books for Thyroid problems is Your Thyroid and How to Keep it Healthy by Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield. Can be bought from Amazon or borrowed from Thyroid UK library.

I have to agree with Ruthi about the STTM book. Although it does contain some useful info for people with hypothyroidism, it is really biased, and sings the praises of NDT from the first page to the last. When I read this book a few years ago, I had the feeling thyroid patients can be divided into two groups: those who have discovered the benefits of NDT, and those who still haven't.

I have "Your Thyroid an How to Keep it Healthy" on Kindle. It was an offer of some kind at the time.

I see a lot of people recommend the dr. Peatfield book rather than the STTM which I much prefer. I know dr. P is almost worshipped by some but Not ME!!.. However of course what works for one doesn't work for another !! Just as well we're all different. And you must decide for yourself

STTM website smacks of a religious sect.
