Little_Lucy07,
No it doesn't. ESR is an inflammation marker. Your GP should be investigating why it is so high.

Doc blamed menopause and says they have no idea why it goes high. Not exactly helpful.
Do the symptoms of the following condition sound like those that you have?

Your doctor can't just ignore your high ESR. There are lots of reasons why yours might be high and he should investigate, not just throw his hands in the air and give up!
No was tested for that and other things by the Rheumatologist I was sent to. C-Reactive result was normal. Also ruled out inflammatory arthritis. Had numerous blood tests and was then told I was a diagnostic puzzle. Had steroid jabs in both shoulders. Also in left knee as X-Ray showed slight osteo arthritis. Have been scanned, prodded, poked and drained of blood but still no answers.
ESR is now 60, hopefully going down as Rheumatologist says it should be 20.
Also sent to physio who says as exercises not making much difference there's no point in going.
