I've taken serrapeptase. It made me feel awful and gave me a lot of gut pain - it seemed to be a huge irritant. And yet that was what I took it for - I took it in the hopes of helping my gut. *Sigh*

Yes, I had the same type of experience as HB : gut pain and increased constipation. I didn't like it at all.

Hi, I know you posted this 2 years ago, so you've probably got your answer. But, just in case anybody else comes to this site for answers.

Serrapeptase, basically works on anything that is inflamed. So if your health issue is inflammation based, it will help.

When I first started it, I took 250,000 IU and it affected my stomach. So, I lowered the dose to 80,000 IU and built myself up to it.

Another thing that helped, I didn't take it as soon as I got up, I found it worse then. I took it a couple of hours after food, or sometimes in the middle of the night, as I get up to go the toilet once or twice. And it's fine.

Best wishes
