Help with K2 dose please

Hi, I am going to start taking Vitamin D - 5,000iu D3 daily and have been advised to also take Vitamin K2 MK7. I have looked on Amazon and there are lots of different strengths (100mcg-600mcgs). Could anyone advise which would be best with the Vitamin D please? Thanks

Jillycee Most doses of K2 are up to 100mcg, I would stick to that.

Hi Jilly,

You have been given the right advice because the two work together. Just make sure you take them with some fat. I normally eat some cheese or drink a big glass of FF milk.

I recommend buying Nutrizing D3 and K2 on Amazon. You can also buy it direct from Nutrizing. The price was about £25, for both, but that gives you 3 months supply. Have a look on the website as they sometimes have an introductory offer.

The strengths are 10000 IU (=250 mcg) and 600mcg respectively which is a lot more bang for your buck than some manufacturers. You want as much as you can get to maximise your absorbtion.

Nutrizing do a good probiotic too. They also do Omega 3 but I found a new Omega 3 product on Elivar website which is top-notch.

Good luck!

Jillycee As your Vit D result is 54, as mentioned in a previous thread, no way do you need to take 10,000iu D3. Stick to what you first said, 5,000iu daily to start. Take that dose for 2 months then re-test through Blue Horizon if you are testing other things or City Assays for Vit D only vitamindtest.org.uk/vitamin... and 100mcg K2 will be adequate for that dose.

The recommended level is 100-150 so when you reach that you can reduce the dose to 5,000iu alternate days. City Assays recommend testing once or twice a year to ensure you don't reach toxicity level which is 220+ nmol/L.

Thank you Seaside Susie, that's great. I had already ordered the 5000iu and 100mcg of K2, so I'm quite relieved thats the correct dose.

I will definitely re-test after 2 months, I'm a bit nervous about taking all of these pills, but as I mentioned, I have felt so well after introducing B12 and B Complex and increasing my Levo, that I'm now willing to pop as many pills as is needed :)

Thanks again
