I've been taking 162.5 of naturehtroid for about a year. I had my thyroid "killed with the radioactive 131 pill. So it's totally inactive . 8 started out taking synthroif (but the generic) and felt horrible so I switched to this. Since I had the iodine pill, I have gained 30 pounds and always felt sluggish. My question is .. shouldn't I be losing weight and feeling good now being on this dose. The dr said my labs look normal. But what's normal to them might be optimal to me . What should I be feeling ? Should I start increasing my dose? I know it's high to begin with .

Charris465 If you post your latest test results, with reference ranges, members can comment. Weight gain and feeling sluggish suggest you may be under medicated.
Nobody can tell you what you should be feeling, not even a doctor - although they think they can! We're all different, and things affect us all differently.
What you need to do is get a copy of your labs to see just exactly what was tested, and exactly what the results were, so that you can see exactly what he calls 'normal'. What he probably means is 'in range', but that's not the same as 'optimal'. You need to know.
Then post them on here - with the ranges - and let us have a look.
I just have one more ?.. I'm on naturethroid.. but when all of this started I took the generic version of synthroid. Does anyone think I'll have better results on regular synthroid and maybe t3 mess as opposed to naturethroid? I know everyone said " natural" thyroid is better. It I want to feel myself again after 2 and a half years
