Eat more lose more? How does that work...

Hello lovelies,

I wonder if someone could help me... I get the less strenuous exercise thing and it's helping with the weight loss, but what's with this eat more thing? I always thought that the basic principles of what is going in must be less than what is coming out still applies with a low carb diet but apparently being 2000-2200 cal = more weight loss than 1600-1800cal as long as it's low in carbs and high in fat. 2200 is barely creating a deficit?

So confused. Not complaining, but why????? Is the fat really making everything work so much more effectively?

PS I hoped I haven't shot myself in the foot now. I'm just elated/ shocked/ scales broken that I had a bag of pork scratching for midnight snack last night after going over yesterday and still woke up a whole freaking pound less. This is too good to be true. I'm not any where in my cycle where I'm expecting sudden gain/loss?

All I can say is I'm not sure what "law" applies to me. I can eat and eat and never gain weight. I eat lots of meat, fat and veg and no gains. I avoid grains (hashimoto's diet is grain free) but still should gain. I eat before bed too. My theory is I don't absorbe fat so somewhere I must be suffering malabsorption. Plus being on NDT is like a super weigh loss programme. I hate not being able to gain. Not having feminine curves. I drink protein shakes and nothing.

Haha.. I wish. I eat 1L of almond butter in 2 weeks and nothing! And a can of coconut milk every 2 days lol. I'm ridiculous I know. Probably not the healthiest but hey. Anything for a weight gain. We are in the same boat maybe just the opposite ends of the stick :-)

Almond butter and coconut milk is so good for you! Don't listen to them saying how all these grains are amaaaazing for you.

We might be at opposite ends of the spectrum but I feel for you! 1l of almond butter a week is LOTS! I dunno whether I could stuff it in :(

I know. Its hard. Both ways. I don't know what to suggest for either of us. I just know that I used to get bloated like crazy despite being skinny. Since taking good probitics I never ever get bloated. My stomach feels good on the inside. Also I have a very low testosterone below the norm. Maybe that is the reason I can't gain. Do you have hashimoto's?
