Which is the best NDT, and where to buy it?

Hi All,

I would really like to change over to NDT. I am confused as there actually seems quite a few different brands...which is the most popular and least side effects and where can I buy it from. I live abroad so I need to order online. Thanks!

Not all ndt's suit all people because of the fillers and the way they are made. I took one which didnt suit me the first tine i tried ndt and went back to levothyroxine for a year. Maybe if you try the hypoallergenic one. Naturethroid, you will be able to see if ndt suits you, and then use it as a measuring stick against other, cheaper, brands

I take WP thyroid as it has the least fillers, I order online from <site deleted in accordance with posting guideline #23>. I've only been taking for a few weeks but it's made a huge difference already.

Hi there, could you private message me the website?

Wondered if you would mind PM ing me the site also? Thank you. I'm just about to try Erfa via an Endocrinologist in London but aware that not all brands suit all people - and in some cases NDT doesn't suit all people too.

Hi Wiredtobetired,

I have been struggling with Lt4 for years and now doing Lt4/Lt3 combination with some improvement, but waiting for the dreaded GP conversation about Lt3 being withdrawn as it is CCG red listed and now I realise after reading "Stop the Thyroid Madness" I need to take control and source NDT. Please could you PM the WP thyroid source. It sounds the best as fillers effect me a lot.

In hope - thank you ever so much.

Hi Wiredtobetired, I'm about to start WP thyroid. Could you tell me in what ways it has helped you / what has improved in the first few weeks. This would be really useful to me and I would be really grateful for any feedback. Also, what dose did you start on? I'm planning to build up very slowly starting on 1/4 grain as I am very sensitive to medication. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Hi,

I've been taking WP for just over a year. It took a while to be effective as I increased very slowly, & didn't realise I had to leave a few hours before eating & taking other meds, etc.

I now take it early, & don't take anthing but water for 2 hours, 3 if I can manage it. I stareted on 1/4 grain, & increased every two weeks till I got to 1. I then, foolishly, tried Thyro-Gold, which made me feel much worse than before I'd started, so it took another month to get over that hiccough.

After a few months on 1 grain, my symptoms crept back in, & I needed to increase again. I now take 1 1/2 or 2 grains, plus 25mcg of T3.

Hi Yogini41

I've started on 1 grain, after three days it was like a fog had lifted, I could think and stay awake all day and evening without any naps. I'm hungry for the first time in years and yet loosing around 2kg a week so far. My temperature is better and my pulse is a little quicker, even my skin seems less dry! I'm also very sensitive to medication...but so far I've not noticed any negative side effects, I didn't really want to take medication and tried diet and supplements first, but I'm glad I've tried it, I think it's a keeper. Good luck I hope it helps you.

Hi Wired,

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply - it has really encouraged me and alleviated a lot of anxiety surrounding self - medicating with NDT :) I was diagnosed in February and have tried diet (gluten, grain, dairy, soy and nightshade free) and supplements. I have undertaken lots of research and come to the conclusion that I need additional thyroid hormones to lift the many residual symptoms including extreme fatigue, brain fog and problems recovering after the slightest exertion.

Thank you for the encouragement and feedback once again. It has been really helpful and is very much appreciated :)

Be well :) x

(Apologies for hijacking your thread mpsun. I wish you the best of luck with NDT)

HI,

My favourite ihe 3 NDTs I've tried is WP Thyroid.

I find Nature Throid ok, but a bit weaker than WP, & hated Thyro-Gold. I tried T-G for a second time, about a month ago, & had a worse reaction than last year.
