My husband had a similar problem for years and was told it was toe fungus!! He got rid of this with Oregano oil obtained on Amazon. Magic stuff. Good luck.

I had this happen to me and it actually ended up eating a hole into my toenail, but when it was tested it turned out not to be fungal and they couldn't give me any other explanation for it. It eventually grew out and I now treat it daily with Tea Tree Oil from Boots and that keeps it at bay.

Hi

I've heard it can be due to candida. Treat with anti fungals from docs or oil of oregano etc.

Have you had your blood sugar levels checked. It can also be a symptom of insulin resistance and diabetes.

Interestingly both of my big toes have black lines running through the toenail and going slightly black at the edges. When i take selenium they reduce and start disappearing but if i stop they reappear. Maybe something to do with inflammation? I have hashimotos.
