Hi All,

There seems to be many types of magnesium. Can anyone please offer any guidance as to which one has proved beneficial.

Many thanks

They are all beneficial in their own way. It depends what you want them to do.

Have you seen this article? It explains what they all do :

Thanks for that article. I have not read that before. All I know is that there were several types of magnesium and it was rather confusing. This article does a gd job of explaining that. Fab! Cheers.

Hi Babaji1971, it differs from person to person to what form of magnesium their body needs. A good starter to try would be the forms that are reported to be easily absorbed e.g. magnesium citrate or magnesium bisglycinate. Look these up on the internet for further information about their reported benefits. It's questionable how much mag we absorb when taken orally, so taking it transdermally as well is reported to be a good method to get it directly into the body's cells. Try epsom salt (magnesium sulphate) baths (500g gram per bath, soak in it for a min of 20 mins). You could also use magnesium oil spray, that you massage/rub directly into the skin. :-)

I bought a magnesium spray last month for my husband and I started using it two nights ago and had the best sleep I've had in years! Probably a coincidence but I will keep on with it. Clemmie

I like Carolyn Dean's ReMag which I read about on her website, she wrote The Magnesium Miracle. It's a liquid so you can take a small amount to start with and then build up to the best dose. I'm very sensitive to meds and supplements so have to start on small amounts which isn't so easy with tablets and capsules. I also like the spray for the same reason but find the ReMag more effective. I've only found it at one place here so far but they will post it out, it's a bit pricey but lasts well and is effective:
