I am 17 and when I was 15 I used to smoke till 5 or more months ago but I quit but my mom smokes and my chest had started to hurt and I got nauseated and really weak and sleepy why is that?

tiffanymoore549 I'm really pleased you've stopped smoking. I have a lung disease, I am an ex-smoker and they like to tell me it's because of that. I wouldn't wish this on anyone .

I'm not really sure that this forum, which is for thyroid disease, is the right one for your question. Maybe send your mom to the British Lung Foundation forum here on Health Unlocked and read some of the posts on there, maybe she'll want to quit smoking. For now, can you ask her not to smoke around you as it might be affecting your chest.

As for how you're feeling, it would be a good idea to get your GP to check you out.

Have you been seen by a doctor? Your mom must know about second hand smoking and how damaging it can be. Give her the information. Most important is to be seen and have a chest xray. You are old enough to go to a clinic for care so please seek help. Good luck.
