my thyroid!!! been on this dose 30 mg dessicated for 2 years my face still swells eyes itchy tongue feels numb on the tip like a tingly feeling .. my eyes are sunk in

I think that on paper you look fine (for thyroid) although your tsh is a little low t3 is OK. So these symptoms are something outside my understanding. Clutching at straws - Are you gluten intolerant? Some thyroid meds have gluten in them.

sorry, I don't know, it's something I was told by someone in the US (where I bought mine from...) but perhaps you are OK as helvella says none in the UK contain gluten

carlaFedUP which brand of levo thyroxine do you take? I cannot tolerate acacia powder which is in Teva levothyroxine. What is your GP doing about it? I would say they are negligent!

Acacia is absolute poison and can not figure out why they use this in thyroid meds let alone in anything. Awful stuff.

Batty1 , I totally agree with you, made me very ill and took 3 years to get back on track with my hypothyroid treatment. Teva liothyronine doesn't have acacia but I won't have it on principle as my issues were compounded by the Teva 100mcgm levothyroxine tablets not delivering a consistent dose and MHRA removed their license.

But I am only a woman and a grandma at that, so it doesn't really matter. Wonder how long it will take for women,s health issues to be properly addressed, not in my lifetime.

Hi,have you had your B12 levels checked ? Along with folate and other vitamins.Just a thought as I have symptoms like that and I have b12 jabs regularly.

May I suggest you add your country to your profile? Location can make a difference to suggestions.

What desiccated thyroid product are you taking?

Have you tried taking any antihistamines? If so, do they make any difference (at least, while you are taking them)?

Are you taking any other medicines or supplements?

canada yes 4 antihistamines a day and nothing I am on a compounded dessicated thyroid made by a pharmacist

I suggest they have a direct responsibility in this.

30mg Armour is half a grain which is a very low dose. Most people start on this dose and gradually increase and end up on 2 grains or more.

When on NDT one expects to see a low TSH, maybe lowish in range FT4 and upper range FT3. But when on NDT it's symptoms that should be your guide. Your FT3 is 59.38% through range so there is room for you to increase your Armour if you wish to try that.

I have thyroid cancer, thyroids taken out 7 months ago. Started on 100 levothyroxine then upto 150. Now on 175 because my eyelid droops now and then and under my eye is swollen. But I have been put on B12 cause it is very low and my platelets are very low. Iam bruising every were. But not knocking myself and cold .
