Wondering whether i need to supplement some iron. Anxiety is so severe from high cortisol, fatigue is bad plus dizzy. Feels like my eyes are wobbling in my head, tight chest. Hardly eating because of the symptoms. My ferritin was 961 couple weeks ago. Dont understand where this dizziness has come from

Iron
It depends where your ferritin is within it's range Jefner You shouldn't supplement iron if you don't need it. Half way through it's range is about where it should be.

All my test results are on my profile page
Jefner Your profile says on 24th August your ferritin was Ferritin 97.1 (range 20-150). You're now saying your ferritin is 961.
961 doesn't make sense. If you mean 96.1 then it is over half way through range and doesn't need supplementing.
If your level was 961 you don't need to supplement.
Have you had an iron infusion?
The reason being your level is very high and very high iron levels cause fatigue and dizzyness like low iron levels.

My high ferritin levels are also considered an inflammation marker
They signify a lot of things so taken on their own they aren't much use. The other things include iron overload, chronic infection and some diseases as well as inflammation.
Either way you definitely shouldn't supplement iron as the only reason your ferritin level is that high is because your body is retaining iron in the protein for some reason.
Hi Jefner, Iv been reading about iron a lot recently, my ferritin was over 1100 last time it was checked. It's been going up steadily over several years but recently has rocketed. Just as Iv got diagnosed with CFS.
I was also told by rheumatologist it was inflammation. But as my inflammation markers are within range I didn't buy it.
Iv just had my genome results back last weekend and it seems my MTHFR gene (found on chromosome 1) is only operating at 30%. MTHFR controls some of the methylation process (where you get your energy from). Also my Vit d gene also only operating at 30%. It means I also have high b12 - over 1600.
My body just can't process it fast enough to produce the energy I need. I suspect you also have the MTHFR gene impairment.
If your iron is due to impairment please don't let them take blood off you, further research indicates that this isn't a good move as your body needs to have the high levels reduced slowly to allow the body to acclimatise to the differing levels.
Unless your inflammation markers are way over limit I suspect you have an ill informed haematologist and MTHFR impairment.
Homocysteine levels can get high apparently.
I'll follow your post if that's ok and see how you get on.
Take care
