Good evening everyone,
I have been reading a fantastic book called 'Hidden Food Allergies - Is what you Eat Making You Ill? I have been gripped from the first page to the last and really wanted to share my findings.
I am sure like me you can have a few days where your not feeling too bad and then wallop out of nowhere your immune system goes crazy and normally for no obvious reason, I am always left scratching my head desperately trying to find out the reason, while feeling like I am about to expire.
If you have a food intolerance (this is the Delayed-onset food allergy (IgG) type
"IgG allergic reactions are common, affecting as many as one in three people - and among those with chronic conditions unresponsive to conventional medications.
Also known as type 3 allergies, this occur when your immune system creates an overabundance of IgG antibodies to a particular food allergen. The antibodies, instead of attaching to mast cells like their IgE counterparts, bind directly to the food particles as they enter the blood stream, creating Immune complexes. The more you have floating in your blood stream, the more in edge your immune system is, then it goes on to red alert sending out Phagocytes to gobble up the complexes. This process takes time, which is why IgG symptoms are delayed for hours or several days"
The top 20 allergies are
Cows Milk, Wheat Gliadin, Gluten, yeast, Egg whites, cashew nuts, Egg York, Garlic, Soya beans, Brazil nuts, Almonds, corn, Hazlenuts, Oats, Lentils, Kiwi fruit, chilli peppers, Sesame Seeds, Sunflower seeds and peanuts - but of course we are all different so it could be anything
They do recommend a test called Quantitative IgG ELISA Food allergy testing.
Obviously the book is jam packed with fantastic information and also ways to prevent and reverse allergies and how to heal your gut. I am very excited about this and I hope it helps
Best wishes
